Derek Gregory showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sivert Jensen, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. U21 Norway's Jan-Kenneth Ulven proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Norway from getting a goal against them. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Norway's goalkeeper Jan-Kenneth Ulven, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Sivert Jensen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to U21 Norway getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Alex Boge hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Norway's Raymond Gustavson got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute of the match Barry Ruskin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jan-Kenneth Ulven showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jan-Kenneth Ulven made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Neil McGruder sent off a good shot on target. Jan-Kenneth Ulven showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Neil McGruder in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 37th minute Alex Boge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Gregory saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of U21 Scotland booed when U21 Norway was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sivert Jensen didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

U21 Norway's Kim Wien was substituted for Alex Boge. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Walter McOwen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to U21 Norway getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Kim Wien hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the game, Sivert Jensen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Derek Gregory was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 60th minute, Jamie Duncan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sivert Jensen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Derek Gregory came out and tried to block the shot, but Sivert Jensen slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 63rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kim Wien in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Derek Gregory saved U21 Scotland from getting behind. In the 70th minute Kim Wien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Gregory saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the U21 Norway defense, Joe Cobb kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan-Kenneth Ulven. The U21 Norway fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan-Kenneth Ulven should have stopped the shot. Sivert Jensen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Derek Gregory made a huge save. After 79 played minutes U21 Scotland got a freekick which was hit by Harry Greusach. Sivert Jensen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to U21 Norway getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Mike Hawk hit a great ball. Calum McGlasrich made in the 86th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jamie Duncan however managed to control. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter McOwen in the 88th minute of play forced U21 Norway's goalkeeper Jan-Kenneth Ulven to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raymond Gustavson kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. A hard shot 92 in the game by Kim Wien from a close distance when the talented Derek Gregory managed to make a qualified save. U21 Scotland's players were relieved. In the 96th match minute, U21 Norway was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sivert Jensen to maneuver through the defense.
