The U21 Canada fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 14thth minute of the game Guðbjarni Línbergsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Canada's Lothaire Petit was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aðalbergur Styrmisson was a little too slow when Bud McCann got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 2-0. Aðalbergur Styrmisson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adrien Cochran in the 21st minute. After a rather tough play, U21 Canada's Virgilio Solomon got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Guðbjarni Línbergsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, U21 Canada's Gordon Baron got a free kick in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adólf Hálfdánsson in the 28th minute of play forced U21 Canada's goalkeeper Lothaire Petit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bud McCann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. U21 Iceland's Aðalbergur Styrmisson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bud McCann in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Ezekiel Addison was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Canada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Iceland the free kick. In the 34th minute, Ezekiel Addison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Aðalbergur Styrmisson managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when U21 Canada's Bud McCann fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. U21 Canada's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ezekiel Addison in the 37th minute. Virgilio Solomon struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Aðalbergur Styrmisson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Canada. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adrien Cochran to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52nd play minutes Bud McCann shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Aðalbergur Styrmisson and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 57th minute Bud McCann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aðalbergur Styrmisson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Canada's Alfred Leroux was substituted for Bud McCann. Lothaire Petit showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guðbjarni Línbergsson in the 63rd minute of the match. Adólf Hálfdánsson came free with the goalkeeper in the 70th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lothaire Petit could save by the left post. The audience was convinced that Alfred Leroux's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aðalbergur Styrmisson was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Alfred Leroux might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aðalbergur Styrmisson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfred Leroux ran back to his position shaking his head. Aðalbergur Styrmisson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Leroux, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 76 minutes into the match, U21 Iceland's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Leroux came free, but Aðalbergur Styrmisson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfred Leroux recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfred Leroux blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aðalbergur Styrmisson having to make a save. Adrien Cochran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Aðalbergur Styrmisson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U21 Canada's Antone Kelley was substituted for Gordon Baron. In the 85th minute Alfred Leroux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aðalbergur Styrmisson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Alfred Leroux managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Canada's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfred Leroux was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aðalbergur Styrmisson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adólf Hálfdánsson got free with Lothaire Petit in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lúðvík Nikulásson hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Alfred Leroux put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Aðalbergur Styrmisson. For all the effort they put into the match, the U21 Iceland players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for U21 Canada.
