But to his dismay, Julian Tebaldo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 25th minute Saverio Salbatore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael De Leon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, U21 Panama's Ulpiano Pérez got a free kick in the 26th minute. Rafael De Leon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Tebaldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The U21 Panama players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Argentina were winning 0-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matias Aizprua stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, U21 Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Tebaldo came free, but Rafael De Leon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Tebaldo in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafael De Leon saved U21 Panama from getting behind. In the 58th match minute, U21 Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulpiano Pérez to maneuver through the defense. U21 Argentina made a substitution. Aquiles Licerio replaced Freddy Betadur. The supporters of U21 Argentina booed when U21 Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulpiano Pérez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Carlos Quintero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute of the match Paul Cezanne sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rafael De Leon skillfully saved the ball. Rafael De Leon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saverio Salbatore in the 68th minute of the match. Rafael De Leon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonardo Libermans in the 68th minute. Carlos Quintero kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's Paul Cezanne broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. With a little luck, U21 Panama's Rafael De Leon got control of the ball when Leonardo Libermans tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonardo Libermans who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Rafael De Leon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Panama's zone, Leonardo Libermans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael De Leon came out of the goal and Leonardo Libermans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When U21 Argentina's Leonardo Libermans in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Edgardo Orozco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Natalio Hibai read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute of the match U21 Panama got a corner. U21 Argentina's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Julio Ríos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Francesco Nuñez charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Francesco Nuñez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rafael De Leon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonardo Libermans went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Rafael De Leon made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Leonardo Libermans sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Leonardo Libermans's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rafael De Leon was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. U21 Argentina had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
