Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Koos de Vries took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute of the match, Koos de Vries tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Santo Harmon saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Casper Kooij showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from J.C. Faulk in the 6th minute of the match. U21 United States were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after U21 Netherlands's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Andre Owen took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Andre Owen got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Casper Kooij quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling J.C. Faulk in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Kooij prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Koos de Vries recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andre Owen took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Casper Kooij. Casper Kooij dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. U21 United States were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after U21 Netherlands's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Andre Owen took the corner. In the 32nd minute, Andre Owen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Casper Kooij was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. U21 Netherlands's Casper Kooij played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andre Owen in the 34th minute of play. Santo Harmon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Koos de Vries, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, U21 Netherlands's Virgil van Dijk got a free kick in the 40th minute. Benny Pike hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. J.C. Faulk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Casper Kooij tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The U21 Netherlands players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 United States were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for J.C. Faulk to strike the kick off in the second half. Stefan Giles struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Casper Kooij didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 United States. U21 Netherlands's Casper Kooij played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by J.C. Faulk in the 54th minute of play. U21 Netherlands's Rob Maseland was substituted for Stefano Witting. A collision led to U21 Netherlands getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Matthijs Mans hit a great ball. A hard shot by Andre Owen from long distance, 64 minutes into the match, got Casper Kooij's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Andre Owen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Casper Kooij tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 United States's J.C. Faulk slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Casper Kooij. That made the score 0-3 after 68 minutes of play. Santo Harmon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Koos de Vries went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Andre Owen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casper Kooij having to interfere. Santo Harmon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klaas Vaakanainen, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Santo Harmon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Heiko Rieks went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Koos de Vries in the 88th minute of play forced U21 United States's goalkeeper Santo Harmon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Netherlands's Virgil van Dijk got a free kick in the 89th minute. J.C. Faulk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carel Eiting hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. The U21 United States players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
