Accommodation in London - Need help

Hey

It's not often I post, but I'm looking to get some insight on the above subject.

Basically, I am still awaiting on wether I get picked to be one of the 70,000 Games Makers for the Olympics this year in London and basically I have found out that I have to arrange my own accomodation and travel arrangements to London if I am selected.

Getting to and from London from Liverpool isn't a problem, it's living there without blowing a hole in my budget since it's a big differance in terms of costs.

Would you recommend homestays?, flatshares or hostels to save money and if so, how do i go about it without going to one of these agencies that intend on cashing in on the olympics and what areas near to the Olympic Park (or a 30 min commute)

If anyone lives in London or near abouts, i would be most grateful if anyone could help me on this as I haven't got a clue where to start.

Thanks

I believe many people in London live in cardboard boxes

Rent early, and lock in the lower price. You'll drag out your costs over time, but still expensive to keep 2 homes.

the two times i went to wembley and did an overnight stay, we stayed in hotels near kings cross station, i dont recall them being pricy, maybe it is an area you could target to look for accomodation..
