hi, I purchased a budgie about six months ago, i thought it would be nice to have a pet for company, and maybe i could teach it to talk, and it would be entertaining and chirpy, the problem is that this bird has shown me nothing but resent since day one, when i am in the room there is total silence and when i go to the cage it looks at me and then looks away, then it turns its back on me and stands looking in its mirror, i realised that it is not looking at its reflection, but is actually rear view mirroring me, waiting for me to go away, this has sent my confidence and morale to an all time low, and i am spending my time alone in the kitchen, to make matters worse, i can hear that damn bird whistling and chirping away in my absence..
what should i do, please , please , help me..

goldfish tend to stare at you , and it is difficult to read into their thoughts, most of the time they probably hate you, and you never get any gratitude, company or affection, i am sorry frank, but i think you have it totally wrong, with both your choice of pet, as goldfish are the most selfish and unloving creatures one could possibly own, and also you have failed to read into the fact that this stalemate that iam currently in is a battle of wits..

Do you look like in your avatar? if so I understand the poor thing :)
1. I would take away the damn mirror and put a little picture of you in its place, so he has no option.
2. offer a treat that he loves in exchange for ...whatever you think he is supposed to do.
3. if none of the above works go to a psychologist,..on second thought.. I'd say go to a psychologist regardless. Having low moral because of the damn bird is not a good sign :)

Now I've read it again... LMFAO :D
The young budgie wanted to call his blog 'chickswithdicks.com' but was further frustrated by finding the domain had already been taken.
