Well the Shrekman did it again.
He will miss all 3 of Englands group games....
So the question must be...............Should Capello actually take him ?
Yes or No ?

No. Stupid little child with an attitude problem. Despite his incredible form for United, he has been pretty ordinary for England for a few years now.
More importantly, it is the perfect chance for Capello to play with two strikers who might actually keep the pressure on an opponents defense for 90 minutes for once.
But Cappello is a pushover that no one can respect after a somewhat farcical stint in charge. Reputation obliterated in my opinion.

Yes he should take him,he's Rooney, the best player on the team.If he doesnt take him that means Capello think England is not gonna get out of group stage.

i dont think he should be selected, being sent off for your country used to be a big issue , i know it is now easier to be sent off, but he showed a lack of discipline/ temperament, which should go against his selection anyway, and i agree with above, he hasnt shown that he is not replacable, so replace him.
i will not miss his name not being on the squad sheet, he has to have everything going his way or he gets strumpy, he only lashed out cos, first he lost control of the ball, and second. somebody had the nerve to shield the ball from him, disgracefull ( like my spelling and punctuation )..

I'd select him still for sure. He was certainly stupid, the 3 game ban is probably just, but I would think it cutting off nose to spite face if we leave him out altogether. We should have a strong enough team anyway to get out of most groups, I think it'd then be an excellent boost for everyone to have him back. We'll have even had 3 competitive games to see who of the other forwards is in best form. And of course if we're playing 2 and they're both doing great, then Rooney would always be a nice option from the bench.

Thank you kingjaime. Its Rooney, how you not select him? So what hes gonna miss the 3 group games,of course England is gonna make it out of group stage(even without him) and if Capello really wanna win he needs Rooney. He did make a big mistake, but its Rooney, come on.Im sure Capello is smart enough,a good coach and a winner to select him.

I wouldn't bother, by the time England qualify out the group stages, they'll bottle it when they play real competition.
But then again Copello will pick him regardless with media/peer pressure on him etc

I admit Rooney is, on his day, the best that England have got.....but I have a real problem with his and other England players egos and immaturity.
Personally I would drop him from the tournament totally. Give Wellbeck,Young, Agbonlahor and Defoe the nod.
England don't have a prayer on the field.......lets at least take a side that won't spit the dummy and embaress the nation.

Wellbeck's got some potential, Darren Bent, I don't think it's right Peter Crouch be so much out-of-the-picture as he is at the moment, I see Ashley Young more a winger. I think these guys, and maybe a Defoe or, at a stretch, Agbonlahor, could suffice for the group stage... but I'd have a fraction of the optimism heading into knockout stage relying on one or two of them to score our goals and/or be focus of our attack, compared to if Rooney were lining up. I'd hope it would also mean Rooney comes in fresher and hungrier to make his mark (in a good way, not on someone's leg or anything).
I also, while nothing like a general optimist with England, think we might be a dark horse come that tournament. Joe Hart established in goal, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Gary Cahill matured in defence, Hargreaves (fingers and everything crossed) maybe right for a last shot, Jack Wilshere, Ashley Young, maybe Tom Cleverley, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is coming along well, if Adam Johnson is getting regular club games... Plus quite a few of the older guys will still have it in them for at least this one last run at a big win.

Oop, and I forgot Daniel Sturridge. Personally I imagine it might be Sturridge and either Wellbeck or Darren Bent up front for the groups, then whomever of them seems in best form alongside Rooney for the knockout. (Assuming of course we don't die a death in the groups...)
