Gary Speed R.I.P

He was found dead at home apparently he commited suicide. I wonder what caused him to do it as I don't want to think he was crazy or something. You're talking about it as if all belief systems follow some antiquated fire-and-brimstone approach: "Know your place, don't do this, don't do that, otherwise you're going to hell!" Not all belief systems follow the "condition and control" approach, many encourage questioning, are very gentle about what they consider makes a good person. Buddhism, it depends how far you go, it's mainly about self-empowerment and realization really, you're not told "You must live this way" or "If you don't do this terrible things will happen", it's left to the individual. Have you ever actually looked into Confucianism? As for idiot, that may be true, however I think I understood more of your jonestown type stories than you would like to think. I accept that I have a narrow mind. It is the reality of being trapped in a shell in a world I didn't create, and which I cannot control. However, are you willing to accept that YOU TOO have these same restrictions? The better point, I think, is are we tied to act in such fashion? I posit that you, likely, do not urinate on yourself every time you have an urge to pee, because you have an understanding that controlling your impulse is beneficial to yourself and others. RIP Speed, turning the Welsh NT into something special only to halt it at the click of a finger. Tragic news, when I first saw it when I woke up that morning, I felt a genuine feel of shock and sorrow, and some dis-belief.
