Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Florencio Bühler started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Lukas Wüst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Bühler in the 3rd minute of the match. Miguel Schwyzer scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucas Covarrubias, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cyrill Giacomini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 16 minutes into the match, Chile's Florencio Bühler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lukas Wüst narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Switzerland's Lukas Wüst got control of the ball when Florencio Bühler tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th minute Miguel Schwyzer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Covarrubias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Ignacio Baier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Lukas Wüst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucas Covarrubias didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cyrill Giacomini went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 38th minute Cyrill Giacomini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Covarrubias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Miguel Schwyzer made a precise shot to the right of Lucas Covarrubias. Chile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 46th minute of the game Hipolito Camiña made a throw-in which Florencio Bühler played forward.
Lukas Wüst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florencio Bühler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 54 minutes Switzerland's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pau Plata who took care of the corner kick. Gaston Trucco was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Switzerland's Simon Stuber was substituted for Jason Statham. Chile's Sebastian Rozental managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ricardinho Cabañas in the 59 minute of the game. Lukas Wüst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florencio Bühler, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. If Simon Stuber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florencio Bühler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Lukas Wüst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chile's Alesandro De Smet d`Olbecke was substituted for Manu Chao. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Switzerland's goalkeeper Lukas Wüst, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lukas Wüst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Pinto in the 75th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cyrill Giacomini got free with Lucas Covarrubias in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chile made a substitution. Jose Esteban Lawrence replaced José Ignacio Baier. In the 86th minute Cyrill Giacomini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Covarrubias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the game, Hipolito Camiña threw the ball into play from the sideline. Switzerland's Simon Stuber quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Cyrill Giacomini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lucas Covarrubias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cyrill Giacomini in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Carlos Alberto Pinto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3.
The Switzerland supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Switzerland would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
