Juventus Football Club's Di Zoff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ludomir Poteralski in the 41st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Juventus Football Club's Tanek Wisniewski got a free kick in the 48th minute. Zbyszek Czerner was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 48th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wladyslaw Kaczucha was the one to do the kick off.
