The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. F.C. Sosnowiec's Jan Pazura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Björn Holm in the 3rd minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Eugen Barbăroșie notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of F.C. Sosnowiec's Jan Pazura. Jan Pazura was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mikolaj Pacholewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Kuno Friedrich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Gräskungarnas FF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of F.C. Sosnowiec:s goal. When the match had been going on for 22 minutes, F.C. Sosnowiec's Mikolaj Dlugi got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Kuno Friedrich. Mikolaj Pacholewski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Kuno Friedrich made a huge save. Juliusz Pierz hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugen Barbăroșie in the 31st minute of play forced F.C. Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Jan Pazura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gräskungarnas FF's Eugen Barbăroșie in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye F.C. Sosnowiec's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Gräskungarnas FF defense, Mikolaj Pacholewski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kuno Friedrich. The Gräskungarnas FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kuno Friedrich should have stopped the shot. Jan Pazura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugen Barbăroșie, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute, Eugen Barbăroșie made a precise shot to the right of Jan Pazura. F.C. Sosnowiec's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Juliusz Pierz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Kuno Friedrich when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 52nd minute, Juliusz Pierz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Per-Åke Ekgren succeeded in the game's 56th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-3. 67 minutes into the match, Gräskungarnas FF's goal looked a bit too open when Mikolaj Pacholewski came free, but Kuno Friedrich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan Pazura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Björn Holm, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Gräskungarnas FF's Eugen Barbăroșie was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 84th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Kuno Friedrich showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juliusz Pierz in the 92nd minute of the match. Jan Pazura came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Gräskungarnas FF's Per-Åke Ekgren. But to his dismay, Per-Åke Ekgren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5.
