The audience thought a goal was coming when Val Randle got free with Eduard Alupoaie in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vali Ionaș's late challenge caught a New England Minas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vali Ionaș helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Rasnita getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Vali Ionaș hit a great ball. In the 21st match minute, Rasnita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bogdan Calboreanu to maneuver through the defense. Val Randle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduard Alupoaie having to interfere. Jacques Stovall kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Cristinel Papadima cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Winford Taylor was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Winford Taylor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristinel Papadima in the 33rd minute of play.

The wind increased when Cristinel Papadima made the kick off in the second half. Winford Taylor was a little too slow when Dumitru Drăghici got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 51st minute. The score was now 0-3. Winford Taylor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristinel Papadima in the 62nd minute of the match. After 64 played minutes Rasnita got a freekick which was hit by Ionuț Costache. Val Randle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the match, Rasnita's goal looked a bit too open when Ken Rutherford came free, but Eduard Alupoaie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Winford Taylor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dumitru Drăghici in the 80th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cazimir Daraban during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes Rasnita got a freekick which was hit by Cazimir Daraban. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ken Rutherford in the 96th minute of play forced Rasnita's goalkeeper Eduard Alupoaie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
