Tactics rules: how I handle red cards and how do you go about it

Below the way I'm handling red card in case of defender: 1. add new tactics rules 2. set the following occurs > one of your players > defender 3. set the following occurs > is sent off 4. make substitution > substitute midfielder for defender 5. change formation > set alternative formation where substituted midfielder was set as defender How do you go about it?Below the way I'm handling red card in case of defender:

As you do not know which defender is sent off, your points 4 and 5 would be unworkable. I noticed a lower/lowest (in position) striker was usually auto-set to the position of that sent-off defender, so I would set an alternative formation with a player having decent defending skill as that lower/lowest striker in the case of a defender sent off.As you do not know which defender is sent off, your points 4 and 5 would be unworkable.
