MZ Manager is no more!

Good evening fellow managers. A little over 2 years ago I came back to Managerzone after a LONG time away from it. When I came everything was like I left it I thought, but after little while, a lot og small changes had been implemented in the game, and a lot less managers were playing it. The people I had sold a copy of the source code to, when I left, had failed to publicize any new versions, and most of the data download was broken. So, my first initiative were to get it fixed and release v2.4d. In the process of creating 2.4d I got some good people to help and test. I launched the mzmanager.dk website and a discord server, and all was good and fun. After a while I wanted to start on v2.5. I had a lot of ideas to utilize the new features and data and crunched out a feature list and release plan for it. All happened on discord. But something had changed again. This time I got 0 people who had time or was interested in helping, with alfa and beta testing. After a month I decided to take the discord server down to see if I could get a reaction. 0 people reacted. Then I took to mzmanager.dk website down. 0 people reacted. I decided to close the public part of the project in silence, and it has been closed for months! This week some managers started to get problems with MZ Manager 2.4c and I they reached out in chat, guestbook and in the forums. But still I can count on 2 hands and one foot how many reactions I got. So, I am very confident and relaxed with my decision to close down my MZ Manager project for the public, and for good this time. If any out there has the version 2.4d installation files, you have my permission to put on a website for others to download. You are of course not permitted to alter it in any way, and add malware or virus to files, but I am sure some will anyways, so for managers who want to download the files, please make sure you always run them through you antivirus program first before you install it. It was great fun when I took over the Manzone v1.27b utility from g00fy in 2003 and gave it a full makeover and added hockey to it with version 2.0 in January 2004 At its highest MZ Manager had 17K+ active users worldwide. I learned a lot from having that many active users to support, from almost all available time zones. Now is a good time to end it. R.I.P. MZ ManagerGood evening fellow managers.

Hello. First of all, I was a huge fan on MZ Manager 2.4 because MZ Assistant was created only for football. What helped me the most were Demerzel 1.0 SC Ratings. Then many of them appeared until 3.0. Created thread on the Romanian forum about them. Now I play with my own SC Ratings, because neither MZM 2.4, nor Demerzel 3.0, couldn't satisfy my actual knowledge of the hockey skills and how they work. I don't really use Discord and probably not many of us do. I only used it for a couple of times for calls with more than one person, but that's it. This is the first time I hear about MZM 2.4d. Really. And I've been around... for 15 years, very active. So IMHO you didn't actually tell people (or the right people) about your current work. MZ needs something like MZ 2.4 within the game. Something to tell you Winger 8.45 or Center 7.86 or Defender 6.32. MZ suffers from secretomania. I actually proposed that the skills should be visible for all managers to see. This way can incourage a better and faster knowledge of the game. Of course, my proposal was turned down because some don't wish to show their players. Then I suggested at least to make the overall balls/pucks visible, like 35 or 68 or 74 etc. Of course, my proposal won't be taken into consideration. So how can someone who just joins this game can actually understand anything after training his youths blindly for like a year or so? This is actually ridiculous. There isn't a game on this planet that you can't fully understand after playing for a few months. Of course, the difference between MZ and the other games is that you can actually have success in other games if you decide to go hard-core and commit to it. In MZ, it depends on luck, randomness and, of course, the mighty simulator, who can rob you of a fully deserved victory anytime. So Goodwick and enjoy!MZ needs something like MZ 2.4 within the game.

PS: The Forum isn't what it used to be in MZ like a decade ago. People moved to other social networks strictly for chatting, like Skype, Messenger, WhatsApp etc. Because many of us value our privacy and this way we can avoid unwelcomed guests, like the ones who use/used to come on Forum and disturb a pleasant conversation. So, IMHO we should have a different site like mzforum.com for that and leave the game strictly a game, as it should be. This way, when any new discussion appears on the MZ Forum, you can just Google it or maybe receive a Notification of you wish to. So, it's not actually ypir fault nobody or most of us actually saw your well-intended thread and extremely good project. Yes, in MZ it's all about endurance, so the basics should stay the same, but many things should definitely change and improve.
