How do you value the number of skill balls?

Badge image
Is the total number of skill balls something that you plan your teams around, as a strategy? Or do you not read too much into that? Example, fewer overall balls but a 10 skill, or do you rather have a "well rounded" player with bunch of 6-7's which accumulates to higher skill balls?

Do you believe the engine itself take into account your starting 11 total number of skill balls? I am personally trying to always have a high number in the team, but curious to hear your reasoning in how you do it.

I go for total amount of balls + 9 experience, in my experience it's more important and the reasoning is that the SIM might take into account the total balls of both teams when it generates a result.

I meant 9 experience minimum when possible...

Thanks! I just started to be more aware of this, as before I kind of was happy with high rated skills. Today I bought a 58 ball 19 year old (highest I've seen at that age) so will try to think along these lines when forming a team, especially now for my U21.

This is always an interesting theory. I might create a new lineup tactic with my players with the most balls and see if I see any difference.
