I am going to Turkey in a few weeks time and am looking for some tips.
Should I buy Turkish lira or euros?
Are there any customs I should be aware of?
Thanks.

I'd go with lira but friends have mine have received better exchange rates by using pounds in Turkey.
Whether it's more valued there or a market thing I'm unsure.
As for customs, wikitravel will have some tips but as someone who hasn't been (it's on the list) I'm not much use.

Hello superdad123,
Ill say pounds, its worth more value then euros,
Dont worry about the customs, Turks are super friendly, if you go to big cities like Istanbul, Ankara or Antalya you dont need to worrie about the language, the young people usually have decent English.
The food is AWSOME!(sorry for caps), my favorite is iskender, gözleme, köfte and many more, the drink is Raki and Ayran, soup is also a common dish, try kelle paca(sheepbrains) :),
Turkish people are warm heartly, the will help you even when they cant.
lastly dont use Yellow cab/taxi, please use common public transport, they will lure you.
please cantact me for more information or use the turkish forum in " Konu Dışı".
