Well, to be honest, I've noticed the exact same thing a while ago. Just looked at my last 60 matches with A-team (didn't count goals): Home: 12 wins, 6 draws, 12 losses Away: 21 wins, 5 draws, 4 losses It seems to make no sense indeed, but there seems to be some kind of truth in it when looking at the statistics.Well, to be honest, I've noticed the exact same thing a while ago.

Just looked at my last 60 matches with A-team (didn't count goals):

Away: 21 wins, 5 draws, 4 losses

It seems to make no sense indeed, but there seems to be some kind of truth in it when looking at the statistics.

This has interested me, I'm going to be keeping an eye on all of The Sekonda Superleague matches this season to see if there's even more statistics to back it up, or not. According to my findings, the away "advantage", or whatever it should be called, is not as easy to describe as one might think despite a massive data source. Here are two examples (extremes) that confirm and/or reject the Away advantage: [b]1. Sweden Top League[/b]: Last six seasons in Swedish top league (792 games) the win-draw-loss % is 57-11-32 for Away team. Average goals is 3,18 vs 2,18. We have not had a lot of inactive teams that would distort the stats. However, when I have excluded those teams and games, the stats are still quite similar. [b]2. ...a funny story was when my team was about to play a cup final (at home) vs Hockey Club Comarruga S19 last season. (I claim they were the best team of all season 44). After a few scout matches I didnt have any clue about how to beat this excellent team. I then checked his match stats, as far as I could go, just to find at least one loss, one team that seem to knew how to do it. I didn't find any.... This is the TOP League stats for the most competetive countries in the world. Based on [b]3828 matches[/b], the away team wins 54% and home team only 36%. In Sweden, one of the most competetive top leagues, it is 58% for away team. [img]http://ladda-upp.se/files/2015/b142671.jpg[/img] Pl = Number of matches played HW = Home team win % Dr = Draw % AW = Away team win % HG = Average goals scored by home team AG = Average goals scored by away team As I've said before, the more competetive league, the bigger the "away advantage" or whatever it is, you will find. For instance, when I check same stats for division2 in Sweden, it is almost even between home and away teams. I think that's really interesting. So the question is why does it look like this. Does Top Teams in general use other tactis or settings than others? I can only guess - maybe we are just bad at home tactis? I've tried a few things - so far I haven't found anything that will really help me. If I do one day, I might not share it here ;)This is the TOP League stats for the most competetive countries in the world. Based on 3828 matches, the away team wins 54% and home team only 36%. In Sweden, one of the most competetive top leagues, it is 58% for away team.



Pl = Number of matches played
HW = Home team win %
Dr = Draw %
AW = Away team win %
HG = Average goals scored by home team
AG = Average goals scored by away team

As I've said before, the more competetive league, the bigger the "away advantage" or whatever it is, you will find. For instance, when I check same stats for division2 in Sweden, it is almost even between home and away teams. I think that's really interesting.

So the question is why does it look like this. Does Top Teams in general use other tactis or settings than others? I can only guess - maybe we are just bad at home tactis? I've tried a few things - so far I haven't found anything that will really help me. If I do one day, I might not share it here ;)

The reason could be that the teams are more levelled in what you call "most competitive countries". Simply said, the strength of the teams is similar, therefore the away advantage is markable. In countries, where there are a few strong teams while the others are weaker, the stronger teams are able to "over-perform" the away advantage in their home games.

I don't think that those two matches proof that there isn't an away advantage. You won both home games, but you don't know how strong your team was in comparison with yours. You should watch several games against the same opponents of several games between teams of the same strength and than, in my opinion, you'll clearly see the away advantage. Haha yeah I wasn't that serious. Just glad the theory didn't work out for me :) In two days I have an away game scheduled for a semi final playing the same opponent I faced in the previous final. If he wins this match it will prove that playing a home game is advantageous. There is a boost away. I think most teams play the same tactics home and away. But that tactic is for most upbeat in other words offensive.
