The World Cup events are over!

19-07-2018 18:00

After a month of highly entertaining football matches, 2018's World Cup has now ended and so has our 'Predict World Cup Russia 2018' event and the 'Classic World Cup Stars' challenge. During these two events, participants have been rewarded team money, milestone badges, loyal players, and much more. The high performers have also earned themselves Club Membership. We hope that these happenings have brought much pleasure, as we look forward to host similar events in the future!

World Cup 2018 was far from predictable, with many big nations falling flat even before being close to reach the golden trophy. The Germans got punctured in the group play, Spain got penalized by the hosts in the round of 16, Brazil were unable to pass the Belgians in the quarterfinal, and the only "beforehand favorite" not to disappoint was France... Yeah you have probably noticed that they won it all, so we do not have to expand on the details more than that one of our crew members was able to predict the correct winner (read the Crew predictions again). Other than that, there were not too many predictable results which led to lots of excitement in one of our events...

Match Predictor » World Cup - Russia 2018

The Match Predictor event was tight all the way until the final round and many surprises in the cup caused a lot of rotation in top 10. In the end, the Swedish manager honken91 was able to finish as number one, and thereby earned himself Club Membership (along with the others on the toplist), in addition to the many team rewards collected.

In total, we had more than 464 000 predictions and more than 13 000 managers participated in the event. We have received plenty of positive response from the new Match Predictor widget, and look forward to host similar Match Predictor events in the future!

If you still have uncollected rewards from the event, they will be automatically handed out next week.

Challenge » Classic World Cup Stars

There was no doubt that Gaia Futura 2349, managed by Norwegian hanzinho, wanted to win it all. He won 1098 of the 1100 matches played which placed him as number one in the event (see the results from the event here). Along with the others on the toplist, he earned both the black milestone badge and Club Membership for his team.

All milestone badges and Club Membership have been handed out.

Thank you all for participating! Until next time...
