The audience was convinced that Epifanio Leceta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Shawn Parada was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. If Epifanio Leceta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Epifanio Leceta in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Shawn Parada saved U21 Honduras from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Epifanio Leceta in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shawn Parada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 46th minute, U21 Honduras's Ronald Contrera dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sultan Tuğrul stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wilber Ramirez charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilber Ramirez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, U21 Honduras's Wilber Ramirez got a free kick in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chi Kitin in the 64th minute of play forced U21 Honduras's goalkeeper Shawn Parada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, U21 Colombia's Chi Kitin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Chi Kitin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Shawn Parada came out and tried to block the shot, but Chi Kitin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 70th minute. Chi Kitin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Shawn Parada read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute Yasser Asprilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shawn Parada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched U21 Colombia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
