After 35 played minutes U21 Lithuania got a freekick which was hit by Liutauras Rasiulis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingiþór Boðason in the 37th minute of play forced U21 Lithuania's goalkeeper Raimondas Kuodys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raimondas Kuodys made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Marijón Úlfarsson sent off a good shot on target. 40 minutes into the game, Ovidijus Rajeckas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Lithuania's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Iceland the free kick. The wind increased when Tomas Danilevičius made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Lithuania's goalkeeper Raimondas Kuodys, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Filippus Geislason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artūras Ronaldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 66thth minute of the game Ingiþór Boðason who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Lithuania's Raimondas Kuodys was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Vakaris Samalionis fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Lithuania's protests and gave Vakaris Samalionis a yellow card for diving instead. U21 Iceland's Vélaugur Óskarsson was substituted for Florent Malouda. In a very dangerous position, a player in U21 Lithuania fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! Raimondas Kuodys made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingiþór Boðason in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingiþór Boðason in the 88th minute of play forced U21 Lithuania's goalkeeper Raimondas Kuodys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to U21 Lithuania getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Vakaris Samalionis hit a great ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. U21 Iceland fully deserved thier win.
