László Gácsi made the kick off and thus started the match. László Gácsi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Evan Paul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 5 played minutes U21 Scotland got a freekick which was hit by Fraser Ross. Evan Paul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignác Mayer in the 6th minute of play. Evan Paul didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from László Kovács went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Eddie Torry's late challenge caught a U21 Hungary's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eddie Torry helped the player get up and apologised. In the 21st minute, Eddie Torry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, U21 Scotland's goal looked a bit too open when Ignác Mayer came free, but Evan Paul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, László Gácsi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Evan Paul. U21 Scotland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that László Gácsi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Evan Paul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dániel Horváth in the 28th minute of play. In the 28th match minute, U21 Scotland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fraser Ross to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute László Kovács shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evan Paul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, U21 Scotland's goal looked a bit too open when Ödön Szily came free, but Evan Paul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evan Paul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from László Kovács, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Ignác Mayer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignác Mayer in the 39th minute of play forced U21 Scotland's goalkeeper Evan Paul to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ödön Szily sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, László Gácsi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evan Paul was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Evan Paul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ignác Mayer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evan Paul didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from László Kovács went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. The U21 Scotland players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Hungary were winning 0-6.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eddie Torry to make the kick off. László Kovács took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Evan Paul. Evan Paul dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. U21 Scotland's Evan Paul proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Scotland from getting a goal against them. In the 60th minute of the match, Ignác Mayer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Evan Paul saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddie Torry in the 62nd minute of play forced U21 Hungary's goalkeeper Marcell Hellinger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcell Hellinger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddie Torry, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. With a little luck, U21 Scotland's Evan Paul got control of the ball when László Gácsi tried to sneak it across the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, U21 Scotland's goalkeeper Evan Paul had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ödön Szily. In the 71st minute Ödön Szily shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evan Paul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcell Hellinger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddie Torry in the 72nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when László Kovács got free with Evan Paul in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 74 minutes into the match, U21 Scotland's goal looked a bit too open when Ignác Mayer came free, but Evan Paul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evan Paul didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from László Gácsi went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. U21 Hungary's Rómeó Lukaku was substituted for László Gácsi. Evan Paul made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when László Kovács sent off a good shot on target. After 80 minutes, Rómeó Lukaku made it 0-9 with a short kick to the right side. U21 Scotland's Evan Paul tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Angus McWattie's late challenge caught a U21 Hungary's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Angus McWattie helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, U21 Scotland's Angus McWattie got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the match, U21 Scotland's goal looked a bit too open when Rómeó Lukaku came free, but Evan Paul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ignác Mayer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the game, László Kovács cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-10. Evan Paul was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. U21 Hungary's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
