Spectators: 1028 (Terracing: 772, Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) Peru's Idacio Rubina started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Okoyomon Charles Pinazas in the 3rd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Pol Laime to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute of the match, Johannes Bartlett tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pol Laime saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 6th minute Idacio Rubina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Themba Takane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Themba Takane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amaya Maira in the 8th minute of the match. When Peru's Idacio Rubina in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye South Africa's goalie prevented a goal. After 13 minutes South Africa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leon Ugarte who took care of the corner kick. Leon Ugarte made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that South Africa's Themba Takane managed to reach the ball for a save. Themba Takane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Idacio Rubina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Idacio Rubina in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Themba Takane saved South Africa from getting behind. When Idacio Rubina came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Idacio Rubina couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrice Mothobi in the 24th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Pol Laime to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Idacio Rubina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Themba Takane. South Africa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Idacio Rubina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Idacio Rubina might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Themba Takane. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Idacio Rubina ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Idacio Rubina in the 29th minute of play forced South Africa's goalkeeper Themba Takane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Idacio Rubina's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Themba Takane was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Themba Takane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Idacio Rubina in the 32nd minute of play. After some careless play in the South Africa defense, Idacio Rubina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Themba Takane. The South Africa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Themba Takane should have stopped the shot. In the 40th minute Idacio Rubina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Themba Takane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Themba Takane came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Idacio Rubina. But to his dismay, Idacio Rubina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The supporters of Peru booed when South Africa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lebang Nhlapo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th match minute, South Africa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yacoob Kerns to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Patrice Mothobi made the kick off in the second half. Patrice Mothobi hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Tom Misaki took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Themba Takane. Themba Takane dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Thanks to some nice moves Tom Misaki could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Themba Takane however easily saved by the left post. After 68 minutes South Africa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gaitano Morente who took care of the corner kick. Leon Ugarte was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. A collision led to South Africa getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Simamane Mandla hit a great ball. Themba Takane made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tom Misaki in the 73rd minute. Tom Misaki in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Themba Takane, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a little luck, South Africa's Themba Takane got control of the ball when Tom Misaki tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 80th minute Ricardo Goite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Themba Takane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tom Misaki scored 0-5 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Themba Takane, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. South Africa's Thabo Shoba was substituted for Phillip Mangope. South Africa's Fuzile Mnisi was substituted for Johannes Bartlett. South Africa made a substitution. Thabile Shongwe replaced Maseti Laher. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tom Misaki got free with Themba Takane in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 89 minutes South Africa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gaitano Morente who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Tom Misaki fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Themba Takane quite easily take care of the ball. When Okoyomon Charles Pinazas came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the South Africa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Okoyomon Charles Pinazas couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simamane Mandla during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 98 played minutes South Africa got a freekick which was hit by Simamane Mandla. Gaitano Morente's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Themba Takane read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 99th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than South Africa.
