Amaya Maira started the match with the kick off. The supporters of U21 Peru booed when U21 Algeria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moussa Khadra didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Moussa Khadra during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 7th minute, Moussa Khadra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ishmael Ason sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ishmael Ason took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bakezda Meriem. Bakezda Meriem dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Bakezda Meriem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ishmael Ason in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ishmael Ason in the 14th minute of play forced U21 Algeria's goalkeeper Bakezda Meriem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bakezda Meriem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amaya Maira in the 20th minute of play. U21 Algeria's Bakezda Meriem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Olavarria in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, U21 Algeria's goal looked a bit too open when Vako Amaya came free, but Bakezda Meriem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kamel Mazouni got free with Pol Laime in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pol Laime showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agwama Sabati in the 28th minute of the match. Bakezda Meriem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ishmael Ason, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 32 minutes into the match, U21 Peru's goalkeeper Pol Laime had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agwama Sabati. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amaya Maira in the 38th minute of play forced U21 Algeria's goalkeeper Bakezda Meriem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bakezda Meriem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amaya Maira, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Bakezda Meriem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ishmael Ason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Algeria's Bakezda Meriem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amaya Maira in the 44th minute of play. After a rather tough play, U21 Algeria's Sid Ahmed Mesli got a free kick in the 46th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When Djamel Saadane fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Algeria's protests and gave Djamel Saadane a yellow card for diving instead. After 52 played minutes U21 Algeria got a freekick which was hit by Djamel Saadane. After taking down the ball on U21 Peru's corner Benvide Palenciano fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bakezda Meriem quite easily take care of the ball. Bakezda Meriem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amaya Maira in the 57th minute of the match. After 59 played minutes U21 Peru got a freekick which was hit by Fernendo Lecin. Fernendo Lecin kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Agwama Sabati's late challenge caught a U21 Peru's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agwama Sabati helped the player get up and apologised. After 61 played minutes U21 Algeria got a freekick which was hit by Agwama Sabati. Bakezda Meriem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cruz Campano in the 63rd minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Ishmael Ason cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Bakezda Meriem was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, U21 Algeria's Bakezda Meriem got control of the ball when Cruz Campano tried to sneak it across the goal line. U21 Peru's Ishmael Ason pulled a muscle in his back after 72 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After a rather tough play, U21 Algeria's Makhloufi Brahimi got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After 73 played minutes, U21 Peru's Benvide Palenciano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bakezda Meriem came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U21 Peru reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agwama Sabati in the 74th minute of play forced U21 Peru's goalkeeper Pol Laime to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cruz Campano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Bakezda Meriem made a huge save. Moussa Khadra got his second yellow card in the match during the 83rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Moussa Khadra hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Lolo Fernández sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Polentzi Fraile blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bakezda Meriem having to make a save. Kamel Mazouni hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After having played for 97 minutes, Lolo Fernández managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lolo Fernández was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over U21 Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than U21 Algeria throughout the match.
