They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lutz Dziub stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Ken Kurz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Remigijus Duseika. That made the score 0-6 in the 72 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Vygantas Luzeckas managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Lithuania's supporters rose to their feet, but Vygantas Luzeckas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carl Rauch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Ken Kurz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
