The Venezuela fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Venezuela's Eudoxio Tumiraos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Leonel Orlandus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gaztea Araña read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Tadeo Guerrero was out of position in the 9 minute of play, and Eudoxio Tumiraos capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eudoxio Tumiraos really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Tadeo Guerrero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaztea Aquejano in the 13th minute. With a little luck, Argentina's Tadeo Guerrero got control of the ball when Eudoxio Tumiraos tried to sneak it across the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Orlandus came free, but Gaztea Araña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hermelando Cepa made in the 20th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gaztea Aquejano. In the 25th minute of the game Hermelando Cepa made a throw-in which Gaztea Aquejano played forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Sanjuan in the 28th minute of play forced Argentina's goalkeeper Tadeo Guerrero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th match minute, Argentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hipolito Calixto to maneuver through the defense. Gaztea Araña took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Orlandus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tadeo Guerrero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eudoxio Tumiraos in the 34th minute. Leonel Orlandus scored 2-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gaztea Araña, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leonel Orlandus to strike the kick off in the second half. Gaztea Araña stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leonel Orlandus's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Gaztea Araña made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Leonel Orlandus sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Argentina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hipolito Calixto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venezuela made a substitution. Etxeberri Tato replaced Bladi Aldama. Hipolito Calixto hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Argentina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Garin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venezuela's Mundo Riega was substituted for Mateus Arriete. Argentina made a substitution. Martin Ederono replaced Leonel Orlandus. In the 79th minute of the match Argentina got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hipolito Calixto ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Hipolito Calixto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Gaztea Araña did a great save. Hipolito Calixto made a great header on Argentina's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Gaztea Araña managed to reach the ball for a save. Lorenzo Sanjuan took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tadeo Guerrero. Tadeo Guerrero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. After 89 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Hermelando Cepa. A hard shot by Hipolito Calixto from long distance, 89 minutes into the match, got Gaztea Araña's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Tadeo Guerrero came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Lorenzo Sanjuan. But to his dismay, Lorenzo Sanjuan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Gaztea Araña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Remir in the 94th minute of play. Venezuela's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
