Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) Portugal's Afonso Antunes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 10 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Augustin Fournel came free, but Lúcio Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anatole Judas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Olivier Atton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Cardoso having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Olivier Atton put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Lúcio Cardoso. France's Anatole Judas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Antunes in the 26th minute of play. Afonso Antunes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anatole Judas having to make a save. In the 29th minute Afonso Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anatole Judas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Afonso Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anatole Judas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the game, John-Paul Vital was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. France's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portugal the free kick. In the 47th match minute, France was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John-Paul Vital to maneuver through the defense.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pierre-Loup Auvinet to make the kick off. Lúcio Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blaise Deck in the 53rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonso Antunes in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anatole Judas saved France from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Afonso Antunes got free with Anatole Judas in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 64th minute, Julien Bataillard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Portugal made a substitution. Daniel Mendes replaced Vítor Ferreira. France made a substitution. Raphaël Varane replaced John-Paul Vital. Portugal's Ricardo Valente was substituted for Afonso Antunes. Julien Bataillard kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 66th minute of the match Diamantino Aguiar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anatole Judas skillfully saved the ball. In the 67th minute of the match Portugal got a corner. France's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Diamantino Aguiar ran over to the corner to take the kick. Anatole Judas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Valente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 73 minutes, Ricardo Valente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Valente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lúcio Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olivier Atton, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Lúcio Cardoso came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by France's Olivier Atton. But to his dismay, Olivier Atton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 83rd minute Augustin Fournel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Roger Chomel in the 91st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Portugal's Óscar Lima. In the 93rdth minute of the game Ricardo Valente who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but France's Anatole Judas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augustin Fournel in the 94th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Lúcio Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardo Valente got free with Anatole Judas in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ricardo Valente could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Anatole Judas made a huge save. For all the effort they put into the match, the Portugal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for France.
