After 4 played minutes Guatemala got a freekick which was hit by Diego Rosales. After 5 played minutes, India's Anjuli Mukherjee shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zelvin Barraza came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in India reached it. After some careless play in the Guatemala defense, Kinjata Sangha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zelvin Barraza. The Guatemala fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zelvin Barraza should have stopped the shot. Kinjata Sangha struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Zelvin Barraza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for India. India's Angaristha Atwal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save India from getting a goal against them. Kinjata Sangha took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zelvin Barraza. Zelvin Barraza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 20th minute Kinjata Sangha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zelvin Barraza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to India getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Anjuli Mukherjee hit a great ball. Zelvin Barraza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kinjata Sangha in the 25th minute of the match. Kinjata Sangha scored 0-3 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zelvin Barraza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Kinjata Sangha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zelvin Barraza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kinjata Sangha in the 32nd minute of the match. Angaristha Atwal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Padilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When India's Anuhrada Chawla in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guatemala's goalie prevented a goal. Zelvin Barraza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anuhrada Chawla's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Oswaldo Galdamez got a throw-in 37 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Misael Cerna. In the 38th minute, Kinjata Sangha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The India fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. 42 minutes into the game, Kinjata Sangha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Zelvin Barraza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hugo Padilla hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Misael Cerna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Amilcar Murgas made in the 52nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Misael Cerna. The crowd rose to their feet as Kinjata Sangha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zelvin Barraza. That made the score 0-6 in the 56 minute of play. Kinjata Sanghas short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Zelvin Barraza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 60th minute, Hugo Padilla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guatemala fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. Zelvin Barraza was a little too slow when Kinjata Sangha got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 1-7. India made a substitution. Jayadev Bhachu replaced Anuhrada Chawla. India's Kudhara Sharma was substituted for Kinjata Sangha. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Kudhara Sharma put it in 1-9 from a short distance just to the right of Zelvin Barraza. Kudhara Sharma received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zelvin Barraza came out and tried to block the shot, but Kudhara Sharma slotted it home off the left post making it 1-10 in the 82nd minute. After 87 minutes, Kudhara Sharma made it 1-11 with a short kick to the right side. Guatemala's Zelvin Barraza tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The Guatemala fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. India were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
