Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Inge Braa took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Inge Braa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Sweden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inge Braa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 9th minute Inge Braa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliver Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, U21 Sweden's Inge Braa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oliver Kahn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Christer Olsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kai-Arne Sortland, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inge Braa in the 23rd minute of play forced U21 Norway's goalkeeper Oliver Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Norway's Christian Moseng got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Kai-Arne Sortland blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christer Olsson having to make a save. Christer Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kai-Arne Sortland in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Norway's goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Inge Braa in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oliver Kahn saved U21 Norway from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Inge Braa put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Oliver Kahn. 35 minutes into the game, Christian Moseng was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Norway's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Sweden the free kick. After 35 played minutes U21 Norway got a freekick which was hit by Christian Moseng. 39 minutes into the match, Inge Braa notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of U21 Norway's Oliver Kahn. Oliver Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kai-Arne Sortland in the 48th minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Christer Olsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
U21 Norway's Linus Stenvik was substituted for Christian Moseng. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inge Braa in the 53rd minute of play forced U21 Norway's goalkeeper Oliver Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oliver Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inge Braa in the 60th minute of the match. Inge Braa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oliver Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Oliver Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inge Braa, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. U21 Sweden's Christer Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kai-Arne Sortland in the 69th minute of play. Ferdinand Bjørn kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. U21 Norway made a substitution. Dennis Dang replaced Kai-Arne Sortland. U21 Sweden made a substitution. Jakob Pihlberg replaced Inge Braa. After 73 played minutes U21 Norway got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinand Bjørn. Oliver Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Duset in the 73rd minute of the match. Oliver Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billy Duset in the 75th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Dennis Dang kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Christer Olsson. That made the score 2-1 in the 76 minute of play. Oliver Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jakob Pihlberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of U21 Sweden booed when U21 Norway was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bjørnar Løken didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christer Olsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dennis Dang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dennis Dang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Christer Olsson made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jakob Pihlberg in the 90th minute of play forced U21 Norway's goalkeeper Oliver Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Billy Duset sped through U21 Norway's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Oliver Kahn. Oliver Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakob Pihlberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Duset in the 97th minute of play forced U21 Norway's goalkeeper Oliver Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the U21 Norway players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for U21 Sweden.
