When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Vicente Portela put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Percy Ivey. Filipe Nóbrega struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Percy Ivey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Canada's goalkeeper Percy Ivey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gökdeniz Karadeniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Amado Neiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guilherme Peralta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guilherme Peralta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Percy Ivey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Canada supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portugal's performance. The match ended with a win for Portugal.
