The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emmanuel Ramm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davide Di Mascio in the 3rd minute of the match. Achille Lampa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 김 원's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. 7 minutes into the match, 김 원 dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Achille Lampa, 1-0. Achille Lampa made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when 김 원 sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when 김 원 got free with Achille Lampa in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, 김 원 put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Achille Lampa. In the 21st minute of the match, Son Head Son got a very nice opportunity to score, but Achille Lampa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Achille Lampa made an important save on a dangerous shot by 김 원 in the 28th minute. In the 30th minute, 정 당 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 김 원 made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 33rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Achille Lampa would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. South Korea were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Italy's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. 김 순 took the corner. After taking down the ball on South Korea's corner 김 순 fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Achille Lampa quite easily take care of the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Italy's goalkeeper Achille Lampa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by 김 원. Italy's Domenico Pesce managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by 정 당 in the 40 minute of the game. Emmanuel Ramm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davide Di Mascio in the 41st minute of play. The supporters of Italy booed when South Korea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tuna Can didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Davide Di Mascio to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Davide Di Mascio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Emmanuel Ramm. That made the score 2-1 in the 57 minute of play. Emmanuel Ramm made an important save on a dangerous shot by Davide Di Mascio in the 67th minute. After 68 played minutes South Korea got a freekick which was hit by Tuna Can. South Korea made a substitution. 정 후 replaced 김 원. Tuna Can hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 76 minutes into the match, South Korea's goalkeeper Emmanuel Ramm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernesto Del Vecchio. An unexpectedly hard shot by 정 후 in the 77th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Achille Lampa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute South Korea were awarded a corner. 김 순 went to the cornerflag to take it. Emmanuel Ramm was a little too slow when Ernesto Del Vecchio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 3-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The South Korea fans cheered their team off the field, for while Italy had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
