Nikolaus Staffelt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilie Furdui in the 20th minute of the match. Sylvain Domachowski made in the 22nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Manuel Bärmann however managed to control. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Friedemann Hesse hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Germany's Leander Vöge slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Teodor Aliuta. In the 76th minute, Silviu Dascălu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. When the match was over Romania could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Germany throughout the match.
