Romania's Teodor Aliuta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Cuadrado in the 71st minute of play. Spain's Orlondo Armada proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Spain from getting a goal against them. Teodor Aliuta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Cuadrado in the 77th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Jaime Cuadrado made a precise shot to the right of Teodor Aliuta. Romania's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. With an all-out effort, Romania's Orlondo Armada threw himself towards the right post 86 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eric Mihai, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 89thth minute of the game Honorato Cienfuegos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Romania's Teodor Aliuta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 91st minute, Toader Nistor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Neither Spain or Romania succeeded in finding a winner during the second half. That meant the players faced another 30 minutes of extra-time.

With new strength the players walked out on the field for the first half of overtime. Honorato Cienfuegos in Spain was the one to initiate the kick off. Orlondo Armada stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eric Mihai's shot from short distance in the 99th minute. Urbano Valerón kicked well hit freekick during the 105th minute of the match. Vintilă Duldurescu went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Matei Pătrășconiu advanced and headed the ball into goal, 3-4 in the 109th minute. Romania's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
