Dzemail Filovski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mingo Velazquez in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Macedonia's goalkeeper Dzemail Filovski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dalmai Feal. Vangel Rangelov kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Rajko Selmani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlondo Armada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute, Dalmai Feal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dzemail Filovski was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmai Feal in the 32nd minute of play forced Macedonia's goalkeeper Dzemail Filovski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rajko Selmani kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dalmai Feal in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dzemail Filovski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Spain's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mingo Velazquez in the 38th minute. A nice corner shot did that Mingo Velazquez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dzemail Filovski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Macedonia's Dzemail Filovski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mingo Velazquez in the 41st minute of play. In the 47th minute, Rajko Selmani left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Macedonia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Macedonia's Dragoljub Nestorovski was substituted for Rajko Selmani. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dalmai Feal made a kick off. A sloppy throw-in by Ivo Mojsiev in the 54th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Spain's Guillen Cambero. Dzemail Filovski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dalmai Feal went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 60th minute, Dalmai Feal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dzemail Filovski was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 65th minute Mingo Velazquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dzemail Filovski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Spain's Ramón Garate was substituted for Guillen Cambero. Spain's Prudencio Villafane was substituted for Bittor Ballesteros. Dzemail Filovski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmai Feal, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Spain's Orlondo Armada proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Spain from getting a goal against them. 81 minutes into the match, Macedonia's goal looked a bit too open when Prudencio Villafane came free, but Dzemail Filovski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the game, Spain's Jaime Cuadrado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dzemail Filovski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Macedonia's Dzemail Filovski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Cuadrado in the 87th minute of play. The supporters of Macedonia booed when Spain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prudencio Villafane didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaime Cuadrado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Dzemail Filovski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Spain walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
