The supporters of U21 Netherlands booed when U21 Turkey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serhan Boğataş didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute Efekan Kamer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Henselmans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Efekan Kamer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilbert Henselmans. Frans Scholte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Fazıl Hüsnü Pala made a huge save. Hub Stuijvenberg made in the 41st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Maya Mayo immediately put the ball in play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
