Spectators: 1028 (Terracing: 772, Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Miloslav Klose took the kick off in the first half of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Spain's Miloslav Klose slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rúben Santiago. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. U21 Portugal's Rúben Santiago played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miloslav Klose in the 8th minute of play. Rúben Santiago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miloslav Klose in the 9th minute of play. U21 Spain were awarded a corner in the 10th minute after U21 Portugal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luis Saez took the corner. After 16 played minutes U21 Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Nóbrega. Pepe Muro hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Luis Saez struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Rúben Santiago didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Spain. It was a well-played corner which Pablo Alfaro managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Rúben Santiago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro Osans in the 27th minute of play. U21 Spain's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luis Saez in the 30th minute. A nice corner shot did that Luis Saez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rúben Santiago quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Miloslav Klose scored 4-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rúben Santiago, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Filipe Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aznaro Marquez having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, U21 Spain's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Pierre Papin came free, but Aznaro Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Spain's Miloslav Klose got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. U21 Spain made a substitution. Eskuin Gonzáles replaced Rolando Solo. 70 minutes into the match, U21 Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Eskuin Gonzáles came free, but Rúben Santiago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro Osans in the 71st minute of play forced U21 Portugal's goalkeeper Rúben Santiago to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute U21 Spain were awarded a corner. Gonsalvo Silva went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 77thth minute of the game Álvaro Osans who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Portugal's Rúben Santiago was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Raymond Serra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rúben Santiago having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean-Pierre Papin in the 80th minute of play forced U21 Spain's goalkeeper Aznaro Marquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Álvaro Osans hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Jean-Pierre Papin took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Aznaro Marquez to make any attempt to save it. In the 88th minute, Eskuin Gonzáles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rúben Santiago was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mauro Castelo Branco during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 93rd minute, Mauro Castelo Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Portugal's goalkeeper Rúben Santiago, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eskuin Gonzáles took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rúben Santiago. Rúben Santiago dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. When the referee ended the match the U21 Spain players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
