An unexpectedly hard shot by Dayam Llave in the 17th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Afonso Sisquella to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Julio Montero Castillo in the 19th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Christobal Arco. 23 minutes into the match, Admon Zayas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bladi Lusa, 1-0. Christobal Arco hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Bladi Lusa was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Admon Zayas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Admon Zayas really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Admon Zayas got free with Bladi Lusa in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Honorato Vecilla replaced Andrea Ruberte. After 77 minutes, Christobal Arco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christobal Arco to maneuver through the defense. Alen Boksic scored 6-0 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bladi Lusa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bladi Lusa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. Uruguay's Julio Montero Castillo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Christobal Arco, made in the 93rd minute of the game.
