After some careless play in the France defense, Myroslav Maklakov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Grégory Leca. The France fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Grégory Leca should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Ukraine's Andriy Yarmolenko got a free kick in the 95th minute. Ukraine's Bogdan Osarchuk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barnabé Siebert in the 96th minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
