Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Félix to make the kick off. The supporters of U21 Portugal booed when U21 Latvia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toms Cepējs didn't get a good kick on the ball.
