Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Kostas Stavroulis took the kick off in the first half of the match. Matthew Hunter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Panagiotis Mavroidis's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Panagiotis Mavroidis in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matthew Hunter saved U21 Scotland from getting behind. In the 9th minute Panagiotis Mavroidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthew Hunter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matthew Hunter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Panagiotis Mavroidis in the 13th minute of the match. A collision led to U21 Greece getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Vaios Liolidis hit a great ball. U21 Scotland's Matthew Hunter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kostas Stavroulis in the 22nd minute of play. After 24 played minutes U21 Scotland got a freekick which was hit by Józef Pilsudski. The U21 Greece fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when U21 Greece's Kostas Stavroulis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 29thth minute of the game Kostas Stavroulis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Scotland's Matthew Hunter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, U21 Greece's Orestis Karnezis got control of the ball when Gregor Eadie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Matthew Hunter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Panagiotis Mavroidis in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Panagiotis Mavroidis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Greece fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gregor Eadie to make the kick off. Orestis Karnezis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Thomson, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 53rd minute, Panagiotis Mavroidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When U21 Greece's Kostas Stavroulis in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Scotland's goalie prevented a goal. Panagiotis Mavroidis was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Panagiotis Mavroidis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. U21 Greece's Orestis Karnezis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Thomson in the 60th minute of play. If Kostas Stavroulis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Matthew Hunter successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Matthew Hunter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Panagiotis Mavroidis in the 63rd minute of play. U21 Greece made a substitution. Stergios Zafiriou replaced Argyris Charalambakis. U21 Greece's Stelios Kastanopoulos was substituted for Iakovos Chaniotakis. Orestis Karnezis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregor Eadie in the 70th minute of the match. Orestis Karnezis came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Scotland's Gregor Eadie. But to his dismay, Gregor Eadie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Orestis Karnezis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Józef Pilsudski in the 77th minute of the match. Orestis Karnezis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Thomson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matthew Hunter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Babbis Aggelakoglou in the 80th minute of play. Innes McHutchen kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Babbis Aggelakoglou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthew Hunter having to interfere. U21 Greece's Babbis Aggelakoglou got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Babbis Aggelakoglou came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the U21 Greece fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Babbis Aggelakoglou couldn't finish the play. Matthew Hunter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Babbis Aggelakoglou, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. U21 Greece's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Thodoris Solomos in the 96th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see U21 Scotland lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
