The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an all-out effort, U21 Azerbaijan's Wasyl Mlekodaj threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cabbar Adigözälov, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 8 minutes of play, U21 Poland's Radomir Skaradoski made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Çärkäz Süleymanov was left in no man's land by his defense there! 0-3 became the score in the 11th minute when Radomir Skaradoski elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Robert Kaszubik might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Çärkäz Süleymanov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Kaszubik ran back to his position shaking his head. After 19 played minutes U21 Azerbaijan got a freekick which was hit by Cavidan Abuşov. Çärkäz Süleymanov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Marchewka in the 20th minute of the match. Çärkäz Süleymanov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kryspin Popowicz in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute U21 Poland were awarded a corner. Cyprian Pisarczyk went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to U21 Poland's Radomir Skaradoski getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Azerbaijan's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cyprian Pisarczyk was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Poland's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of U21 Poland booed when U21 Azerbaijan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eynulla Abduläzimov didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37thth minute of the game Kryspin Popowicz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Azerbaijan's Çärkäz Süleymanov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute Kryspin Popowicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Çärkäz Süleymanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kryspin Popowicz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Çärkäz Süleymanov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Kryspin Popowicz's late challenge caught a U21 Azerbaijan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kryspin Popowicz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of U21 Azerbaijan booed when U21 Poland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Azerbaijan's goalkeeper Çärkäz Süleymanov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

In the 57th minute of the game Malik Elxanov made a throw-in which Nahid Mahmudlu played forward. 58 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's Kryspin Popowicz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Çärkäz Süleymanov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Çärkäz Süleymanov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kryspin Popowicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Radomir Skaradoski made a great header on U21 Poland's corner, it was just that U21 Azerbaijan's Çärkäz Süleymanov managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 81st minute, U21 Poland's Radomir Skaradoski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Çärkäz Süleymanov. Çärkäz Süleymanov yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. 84 minutes into the game, Malik Elxanov threw the ball into play from the sideline. U21 Poland's Aureliusz Piatek quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wit Fafinski got free with Çärkäz Süleymanov in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A sloppy throw-in by Malik Elxanov in the 88th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by U21 Poland's Aureliusz Piatek. In the 89th minute Wit Fafinski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Çärkäz Süleymanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aureliusz Piatek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Çärkäz Süleymanov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded U21 Poland left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than U21 Azerbaijan.
