With a little luck, U21 China's Chineze Buffon got control of the ball when Américo Simões tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nuno Anjos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 魏峰斐 in the 13th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, U21 China's Jiang Chang Feng got a free kick in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, 魏峰斐 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nuno Anjos. U21 Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 魏峰斐 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. U21 China's Chineze Buffon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save U21 China from getting a goal against them. Américo Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Chineze Buffon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gentil Fraga struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Chineze Buffon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Portugal. Chineze Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gentil Fraga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Portugal's Nuno Anjos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 魏峰斐 in the 34th minute of play. Nuno Anjos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jiang Chang Feng went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Jiang Chang Feng's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Anjos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. A collision led to U21 China getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. 魏峰斐 hit a great ball.

U21 China's 林星光 was substituted for 雷树荣. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Van Nistelrooy to make the kick off. Chineze Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gentil Fraga in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute Américo Simões shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chineze Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chineze Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gentil Fraga in the 66th minute of the match. Nuno Anjos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhao Jing Xing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Portugal made a substitution. After a rather tough play, U21 China's Maccio Barry got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Inácio Vale struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Chineze Buffon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Portugal. U21 Portugal's Bernardo Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to U21 China getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. 黄威义 hit a great ball. Chineze Buffon came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Portugal's Woody Allen. But to his dismay, Woody Allen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Bernardo Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The U21 Portugal supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 China's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 China.
