The referee ignored U21 Romania's protests and gave Corneliu Arnăuțescu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th match minute, U21 Romania was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corneliu Arnăuțescu to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute Leonardo Millrick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Onisim Culda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Modesto Remigio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marshall Eriksen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Onisim Culda came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Argentina's Pedro Diaz. But to his dismay, Pedro Diaz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciriaco Gartzi in the 17th minute of play forced U21 Romania's goalkeeper Onisim Culda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Diaz in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Onisim Culda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to U21 Argentina getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Ciriaco Gartzi hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's Leonardo Millrick sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Onisim Culda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Modesto Remigio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Oardă, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 33rdth minute of the game David Oardă who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Argentina's Modesto Remigio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 34th minute Ciriaco Gartzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Onisim Culda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Romania's Onisim Culda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Millrick in the 35th minute of play. Onisim Culda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Millrick in the 40th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, U21 Romania's goal looked a bit too open when Ciriaco Gartzi came free, but Onisim Culda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Onisim Culda came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Argentina's Leonardo Millrick. But to his dismay, Leonardo Millrick quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The U21 Romania players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Argentina were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Dumitru Torouţ made the kick off in the second half. U21 Romania were furious when Corneliu Arnăuțescu was red carded, 56 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. U21 Romania's Cazimir Pantelimon was substituted for Florin Răducioiu. U21 Argentina's Modesto Remigio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petruț Juverdeanu in the 61st minute of play. U21 Argentina made a substitution. Feliberto Matai replaced Pedro Diaz. U21 Argentina's Paulino Sal was substituted for Ciriaco Gartzi. Paulino Sal came free with the goalkeeper in the 70th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Onisim Culda could save by the left post. Paulino Sal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Onisim Culda having to make a save. Onisim Culda made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Paulino Sal sent off a good shot on target. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Argentina's goalkeeper Modesto Remigio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petruț Juverdeanu in the 79th minute of play forced U21 Argentina's goalkeeper Modesto Remigio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Modesto Remigio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petruț Juverdeanu in the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Millrick in the 85th minute of play forced U21 Romania's goalkeeper Onisim Culda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, Gary Medel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 90 minutes U21 Argentina's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gigel Cozac who took care of the corner kick. Dumitru Torouţ was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The supporters of U21 Romania booed when U21 Argentina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Pérez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Onisim Culda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulino Sal in the 99th minute. U21 Romania's Onisim Culda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 99th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Romania from getting a goal against them. 100 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's Paulino Sal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Onisim Culda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 102 minutes U21 Romania's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marquinhos Rojo who took care of the corner kick. The U21 Argentina players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
