The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Brazil's Rômulo Velasco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sergio Van Houtvin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 8 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Rubens de Carvalho came free, but Sergio Van Houtvin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucimar Barcelos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rémi Fumić, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Lucimar Barcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rémi Fumić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute Rubens de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Van Houtvin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Brazil's Lucimar Barcelos got control of the ball when Rémi Fumić tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Papi Gol in the 17th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Sergio Van Houtvin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Rômulo Velasco came free, but Sergio Van Houtvin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Belgium:s Sergio Van Houtvin showed great skill when he stopped Rubens de Carvalho:s penalty. After 27th play minutes Rubens de Carvalho shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Sergio Van Houtvin and just under the crossbar into goal. Sergio Van Houtvin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Papi Gol went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Belgium's Sergio Van Houtvin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rômulo Velasco in the 40th minute of play. Lucimar Barcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geordy Abrams, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Belgium's Geordy Abrams managed to work through Brazil's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Geordy Abrams dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After the first half Brazil were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geordy Abrams stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sergio Van Houtvin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rômulo Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Sergio Van Houtvin made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Papi Gol sent off a good shot on target. Lucimar Barcelos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rémi Fumić in the 65th minute of the match. 0-4 became the score in the 68th minute when Rômulo Velasco elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Brazil made a substitution. Marcello Quirino replaced Rubens de Carvalho. Belgium made a substitution. Bertrand Boumans replaced Marcus Lembrechts. Belgium's Binjamin Gilis was substituted for Geordy Abrams. Papi Gol received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sergio Van Houtvin came out and tried to block the shot, but Papi Gol slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 83rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Binjamin Gilis in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucimar Barcelos saved Brazil from getting behind. In the 93rd minute, Manfredo Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 94 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edgard Van Deuren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lucimar Barcelos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, Brazil's goal looked a bit too open when Binjamin Gilis came free, but Lucimar Barcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96thth minute of the game Binjamin Gilis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brazil's Lucimar Barcelos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The Belgium supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brazil's performance. The match ended with a win for Brazil.
