Norway's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when 김 낭 scored to the left of an out of position Odd Rydland, making the score, 1-0. Norway's Odd Rydland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 김 형 in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by 공 욱 in the 19th minute of play forced Norway's goalkeeper Odd Rydland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norway's Odd Rydland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 김 낭 in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Norway's Felix Josefsen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that 김 화 narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had been going on for 46 minutes, South Korea's 김 장곡 got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Odd Rydland. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jørn Wøien to make the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 53 minutes, 김 화 successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 53 minutes into the game, Norway's Jørn Wøien nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. 김 화 made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. South Korea's 김 장곡 was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Odd Rydland in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jørn Wøien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 김 화 having to interfere. Norway's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. 78 minutes into the match, Norway's goal looked a bit too open when 공 욱 came free, but Odd Rydland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Norway defense, 김 낭 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Odd Rydland. The Norway fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Odd Rydland should have stopped the shot. Odd Rydland came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by South Korea's 김 낭. But to his dismay, 김 낭 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. 김 화 made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Josefsen in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute 김 낭 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odd Rydland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 minutes, Johan Helgerud mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Norway and the South Korea players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute, Johan Helgerud hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bjørn Engeland kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Odd Rydland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 공 욱, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 minutes of play, South Korea's 공 욱 made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Odd Rydland was left in no man's land by his defense there! 김 화 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jørn Wøien in the 95th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. South Korea fully deserved thier win.
