Eurelijus Budreckas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Miko Grosberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Almantas Kalinauskas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, U21 Lithuania's Eurelijus Budreckas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edgar Karelson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Vytautas Mačionis kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Eurelijus Budreckas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Karelson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to U21 Lithuania getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Vytautas Mačionis hit a great ball. U21 Lithuania's Almantas Kalinauskas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egon Raudsoo in the 20th minute of play. A collision led to U21 Estonia getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Raivo Ülisoo hit a great ball. U21 Estonia's Edgar Karelson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Estonia from getting a goal against them. Eurelijus Budreckas scored 2-0 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edgar Karelson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of U21 Estonia booed when U21 Lithuania was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vytautas Mačionis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th match minute, U21 Estonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Puuk to maneuver through the defense. If Eurelijus Budreckas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eurelijus Budreckas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgar Karelson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. After 41 played minutes U21 Lithuania got a freekick which was hit by Modestas Žilinskas. Edgar Karelson came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Lithuania's Eurelijus Budreckas. But to his dismay, Eurelijus Budreckas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Modestas Žilinskas was the one to do the kick off. U21 Estonia's Edgar Karelson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eurelijus Budreckas in the 51st minute of play. In the 53rd minute Raivo Ülisoo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Almantas Kalinauskas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Ivo Puuk in the 55th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U21 Lithuania's Daugirdas Gailiūnas. Eurelijus Budreckas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgar Karelson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Eurelijus Budreckas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. U21 Estonia made a substitution. Aare Kalkun replaced Alvin Kaldur. U21 Estonia's John Terry was substituted for Ivo Puuk. In the 65th minute, Taavi Tarien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the match, U21 Lithuania's goalkeeper Almantas Kalinauskas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joonatan Järv. Joonatan Järv could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Almantas Kalinauskas made a huge save. When Eurelijus Budreckas came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the U21 Lithuania fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eurelijus Budreckas couldn't finish the play. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Estonia's goalkeeper Edgar Karelson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Almantas Kalinauskas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joonatan Järv in the 74th minute. Almantas Kalinauskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raivo Ülisoo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Lithuania's Almantas Kalinauskas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Lithuania from getting a goal against them. In the 80th minute, Joonatan Järv left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Estonia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Edgar Karelson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eurelijus Budreckas in the 85th minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Eurelijus Budreckas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgar Karelson. U21 Estonia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eurelijus Budreckas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. In the 87th minute, Audrius Žukauskas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of U21 Lithuania booed when U21 Estonia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joonatan Järv didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Lithuania's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Egon Raudsoo was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Estonia's players had a chance to rest.
