Benny Gulfelt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emmett Burrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Alain Delon put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Benny Gulfelt. In the 25th minute U21 Canada were awarded a corner. John Stones went to the cornerflag to take it. 26 minutes into the match, U21 Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Ernst Søfren came free, but Theron Hammons reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 36 minutes of play, U21 Denmark's Ernst Søfren made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Theron Hammons was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, U21 Canada's Theron Hammons got control of the ball when Ernst Søfren tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ernst Søfren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Theron Hammons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alain Delon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, U21 Denmark's Aake Greding got a free kick in the 44th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Ernst Søfren kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Theron Hammons. That made the score 3-1 in the 47 minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ernst Søfren made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Ernst Søfren managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Denmark's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernst Søfren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Theron Hammons breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ernst Søfren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aake Greding in the 61st minute of play forced U21 Canada's goalkeeper Theron Hammons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 61 minutes, Phil Bowman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Canada and the U21 Denmark players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to U21 Canada getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Phil Bowman hit a great ball. U21 Denmark made a substitution. Mikki Spanning replaced Aake Greding. After 62 played minutes U21 Canada got a freekick which was hit by Phil Bowman. Emmett Burrell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Benny Gulfelt made a huge save. In the 66th minute, Loren Kim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute, Kennet Egins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute, Elbert Trimble got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. U21 Canada made a substitution. Theron Hammons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikki Spanning, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Kennet Egins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Theron Hammons having to make a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The U21 Denmark fans cheered their team off the field, for while U21 Canada had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
