The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, U21 Canada's Chung Crowe got a free kick in the 11th minute. Laurence Desroches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Granados, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute, Chung Crowe reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alexis Guerrero. The goal made the score 1-0. Alain Delon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Alexis Guerrero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U21 Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Miguel Park scored to the left of an out of position Alexis Guerrero, making the score, 2-0. David Lopez charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Lopez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, David Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Robi Lewandowski sped through U21 Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alexis Guerrero. Gerardo Granados struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Laurence Desroches didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Costa Rica. Giovanni Molina charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Ricardo Mesa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurence Desroches having to interfere. U21 Canada's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
