Abraham Vilhelmsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthew Padernal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Philippines defense, Vígmundur Mánason kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bayan Yase. The Philippines fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bayan Yase should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Vígmundur Mánason managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iceland's supporters rose to their feet, but Vígmundur Mánason was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bayan Yase breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The wind increased when Alande Brillantes made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Philippines's zone, Otri Andrason stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bayan Yase came out of the goal and Otri Andrason tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iceland's Abraham Vilhelmsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hubert Liclican in the 95th minute of play.
