Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Váldson de Lara got the match started through his kick off. Mikolaj Michnik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Váldson de Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Váldson de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brazil's supporters rose to their feet, but Váldson de Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mikolaj Michnik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Poland defense, Váldson de Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mikolaj Michnik. The Poland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mikolaj Michnik should have stopped the shot. 25 minutes into the game, Poland's Marcin Tesarski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rubinho Faustino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 29th minute, Váldson de Lara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brazil fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Brazil's zone, Leszek Piwowarski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubinho Faustino came out of the goal and Leszek Piwowarski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A sloppy throw-in by Ludomil Sanocki in the 34th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Brazil's Manfredo Matos. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Váldson de Lara put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mikolaj Michnik. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcin Tesarski in the 37th minute of play forced Brazil's goalkeeper Rubinho Faustino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th match minute, Poland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ludomil Sanocki to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Leszek Piwowarski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Váldson de Lara in the 42nd minute of play forced Poland's goalkeeper Mikolaj Michnik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ludomil Sanocki made in the 44th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Leszek Klewinski. After 47 played minutes Brazil got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Senna. Leszek Piwowarski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcin Tesarski made a kick off. Mikolaj Michnik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nando Trigo in the 56th minute of play. Poland's Mikolaj Michnik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Váldson de Lara in the 59th minute of play. After 62 minutes of play, Brazil's Ciro Baptista made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mikolaj Michnik was left in no man's land by his defense there! Poland made a substitution. Walery Walicki replaced Tytus Puch. Poland made a substitution. Klement Wielgopolski replaced Wiktor Chuchro. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Váldson de Lara in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mikolaj Michnik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 69th minute Leszek Piwowarski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho Faustino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mikolaj Michnik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando Trigo in the 71st minute of the match. In the 73rd minute Váldson de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikolaj Michnik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fred Rincón made a great header on Brazil's corner, it was just that Poland's Mikolaj Michnik managed to reach the ball for a save. Walery Walicki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Rubinho Faustino made a huge save. In the 78th minute, Nando Trigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 80th minute Robert Bucyki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho Faustino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Poland's goalkeeper Mikolaj Michnik, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Poland booed when Brazil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clóvis Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rubinho Faustino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Bucyki, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Brazil's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
