Christian Pavon was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. With a little luck, U21 Peru's Julian Vuelta got control of the ball when Victorio Marz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Maidana charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. U21 Argentina made a substitution. Marcial Tauro replaced Victorio Marz. U21 Argentina's Baltasar Pelayo was substituted for Maximo Oalo. In the 73rd minute, Frechoso Armenta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, U21 Peru's Vladimiro Guzman threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Baumer Palomar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Pelayo in the 76th minute of play forced U21 Peru's goalkeeper Julian Vuelta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baltasar Pelayo might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julian Vuelta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baltasar Pelayo ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Pelayo in the 80th minute of play forced U21 Peru's goalkeeper Julian Vuelta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Peru's Julian Vuelta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltasar Pelayo in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Peru's goalkeeper Julian Vuelta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Frechoso Armenta hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. U21 Peru made a substitution. Xicu Mariña replaced Ricart Huergo. The supporters of U21 Argentina booed when U21 Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frechoso Armenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Peru's goalkeeper Julian Vuelta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 94 played minutes U21 Peru got a freekick which was hit by Frechoso Armenta. U21 Argentina walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
